It's amainsing how when things are going well for you, they can suddenly take a turn for the worst. Perhaps it's karma or something, but sometimes things just go terribly wrong and knock you off your feet. Since my last post both the best event and worst event of my life so far have occured.

On March 27 2006 at 11:23am our baby daughter, Scarlett Abigail, was born. Born very early at 24 weeks, and the smallest baby I had ever seen, but she cried when she came out which is a very good sign. Much like any new father, I fell instantly in love with our tiny daughter. Apart from the nervousness of the whole situation, it would have to rate above pretty much anything that I have ever experienced before.

On March 28 2006 at 00:25am, Scarlett died. Up until about 10 minutes before hand, she had been doing relatively well in newborn care. We had the chance to hold her before she died. She was just too little to survive, but she gave a good fight and lived for 13 hours and 2 minutes.

My condolences. I almost lost my second daughter at birth and know the joy and depression it can bring. Wish you and you significant other all the best.
