The image is the Splash screen of Super Mario 3 Editable - an old version of the classic Nintendo game. The interesting part is that you can edit the maps and levels and create new ones (the game comes with a level editor).

I started this game in 2001 and dropped it in 2003. I googled it a while ago and saw that it became quite popular among the fans, so now I'm working in a new version of it, almost ten years later

It uses IDirectDraw2 (!) so I'm trying to fix several issues with Windows Vista and Windows 7 (the game runs in 8 bit and the new aero Windows doesn't allow setting palettes on the front buffer). I'm about to release a 9.1 version in a couple of days.

It would be better to control mario with the arrow keys.

Thanks for your comment! That's right, I'm uploading the 9.1 version later today.
You can change the default controls by running the Configuration app (smb3ini.exe).
